Soil Temperature
TS05, TS10, TS15, TS25, TS30, and TS45
Soil Temperature, under sod (5, 10, 15, 25, 30, and 45 cm)
The average temperature at a depth of 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, or 45 cm below the ground; the surface under which the measurement is taken is vegetated. Not all depths are available for all periods. Prior to January 2009 (for Little Washita) and March 2009 (for Fort Cobb), stations observed 5, 10, 15, and 30-cm soil temperatures as measured by a Stainless Steel Encased 10K Thermistor Probe. Since those times, all sites observe 5, 25, and 45-cm soil temperatures as measured by the Stevens Hydra Probe. Prior to January 2012, observations were measured at 15-minute intervals; since then, observations have been measured at 5-minute intervals.
